Quito, Ecuador (part 2)

I successfully made it back to Quito from Mindo. I decided to take a taxi tour and visit the two really nice areas of Quito: Mariscal Square (essentially a restaurant district for the tourist, known locally as "gringo-landia") and Old Town.

Old Town was definitely my favorite of all that I saw of Quito. Winding cobblestone-lined roads with densely packed ornate buildings was the theme. The main square was bustling, and the President of Ecuador's home took center stage. There were many beautiful churches at what seemed like every turn.

This was a much better introduction to Quito than I previously had had upon arrival to Quito, although it still felt a bit unsafe. I'm glad I opted for the drive-by tour!
On to The Galapagos!
